Piano Lessons

It's kind of weird to say it about an (almost) two-year old, but Elizabeth is very musically inclined! She loves to sing and listen to songs (mostly musicals and baby tunes, but she also enjoys Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga!). She talks a lot so she is very good and remembering lyrics and singing them back to us. She can also carry a tune pretty well for a toddler.

So, we thought it made sense to start her in piano lessons when she was old enough. I have played the flute since I was 10 and play the piano a little bit (a very, very little bit), so I know how wonderful it is to be able to play your own music. Plus, she seems like she has a talent for piano, don't you think?

Until now, she's had to content herself with goofing around on my old keyboard...

But a few weeks ago, she got a real piano! (Oh, how I wish I could post the pictures of her sitting at our new piano, but alas, they are trapped on the camera! However, the piano does look kind of like this (but it's not in such nice shape). Just imagine an adorable baby sitting at it).

The piano was used and we got a great deal on it. Shawn found it on Craigslist and the guy we bought it from even offered to deliver it (lucky us because those things are heavy!).

Lizzie really seems to like banging on the keys and hearing Shawn and I (attempt to) play. We figure once she is three or four years old we can start her in lessons! I'm so excited!

Hey guys... I have been really busy lately, but I read this and almost passed out from freaked-outness

I've been listening to a whooooole lot of MJ and Lady Gaga lately. And some other stuff too.

Just wanted to let you know I might not be able to write or call a whole lot, but I do keep up with the blog as much as i can.

Miss you! Love you!

Hi, Jessica!

I'm glad you check the blog (I've been trying to update it a little more often, too).

Lucky for her, Lizzie got your taste in music. If she had to rely on just us she'd be listening to Kenny G or something horrible (just kidding! I would never do that to her :)

We miss you, too! We think about you a lot and always hope you're doing well!

Love you!
Lisa (& Shawn & Lizzie)
