Shawn: Hmmm... the Avent bottles had wider nipples... and didn't have as many parts to clean.
Me: Dr. Brown's are great! They're great I tell you!
No bottle is "perfect," I guess, both have their pluses and minuses. I kind of miss the Avents too sometimes, until I realize it's crazy to miss something that's made of plastic.
Lizzie also showed us her newest trick - rolling over on her side. I don't know how she figured it out, but maybe it's been all the rolling we've been practicing with her. I started to get panicky thinking that, since she's almost four months old, she should be rolling over and lifting up her head whilst on her tummy. Why anyone would panic about this, I don't know, but I did. Now, she kind of swings her legs around to move herself onto her side in a kind of L-shape. She can also pick up her head if she's on her tummy granted there's something she wants to see in front of her. Last night, she went crazy lifting her head to watch Wipeout.
We also started to give her "solid" foods. I put solid in quotes, because the unappetizing, liquidy consistency of the rice cereal she ate did not appear to be at all "solid" to me. I guess she ate it, if by ate you mean mushed half of it out of mouth and onto her shirt. Still, that's a couple spoonfuls of rice gruel and that's something to be proud of.
Right now, we are having some pipe problems, so we may be staying at my mom and dad's for a few days. We slept there last night and my mom couldn't believe how good Elizabeth is a night (we are blessed that she pretty much sleeps about ten uninterrupted hours every night*).
Mom: Lizzie slept very well last night in a strange place.
Me: Well, she's very adaptable... and smart... and independent. She's basically a genius baby.
Mom: Right...
Hopefully, Shawn and my dad can fix the pipe issue so we can all sleep in our own cribs and beds tonight.

* I know you're not supposed to tell other people this, but how can I help it. This is my infant child's one major accomplishment! How can I not brag to everyone I see that the kid sleeps longer than me most nights!

Hey LMG! Hope the pipe issue is getting better. My parents said that their basement flooded due to the heavy rains you guys got this week. My Dad said he might call Jim to see if he could recommend a contractor - he's sooo Bob Villa!:)
