New Bottles

So, I just heard that we can exchange our BPA-laced Avent bottles at Babies 'R' Us for new non-BPA poisoned ones. Apparently you can take in your old, used bottles and they will give you new ones for free. Sweet! Our Babies 'R' Us wants a receipt or for the items to have appeared on a registry in the last six months, but I've heard each store has different policies about the returns (probably depending on how helpful their staff is).

I called my mom to let her know we would be turning our bottles in and that she might want to exchange hers too. We agreed to return them on Friday and had the following conversation:

Mom: That's good. Now she won't die from BPA exposure.
Me: Well, she won't actually die from it, she would just an excess of estrogen in her system.
Mom: Estrogen? Doesn't she need that?
Me: Yeah, but I guess not too much of it.
Mom: So what's the worst that can happen?
Me: I don't know... she gets her period too early?

I guess I'm kind of confused about why BPA is so bad, but if I'm getting some brand spanking new bottles out of it, sign me up. Plus, they'll probably ban BPA in bottles soon and then we'll have a non-BPA set for a possible child #2. Always thinking ahead.
