On Saturday morning, I raced (er, walked) for the cure. I went with some people from work and got some good exercise. The whole thing was about 3 miles, but it was fun and I really enjoyed helping out this great cause. Here's a picture of just some of the 30,000 racers...
Shawn and I also caught up on our movie watching. We subscribe to Blockbuster online and had quite a few disks lying around the house to view. In addition to seeing some new movies, we also had to rewatch the first season of 30 Rock (one of our favorite new shows). It was also very exciting to see the show win an Emmy for Best Comedy Series on Sunday night. It's a really funny and clever show and we hope that NBC sticks with it even though not that many people are watching (Tina Fey thanked their "dozens and dozens of viewers" in her acceptance speech – you're welcome, Tina!).
We also looked for a new washer and dryer. Ours came with the house when we moved and are getting up there in age. We were checking out some of the nice front-loading models because they wash more efficiently and I can pack more clothes in each wash cycle (one model holds up to sixteen pairs of jeans – sixteen pairs!).
All in all, not a very exciting weekend, but it was fun and relaxing to spend some time together and do some fun stuff. And, hey, not every weekend can be jam-packed with adventure and intrigue!
