Because I've been on a cleaning spree and I hate to throw out anything anyone could use, we decided to have a garage sale on Friday and Saturday this weekend. It was a lot of work, but we did pretty well and got rid of loads of stuff that we never use. My mom and sister were also able to join in and we practically cleaned out Mom's basement!
Here's a photo of the sale all set up in the front yard...

The view inside the garage...

These photos were both taken on the second day of the sale because we were inundated with customers the first morning. Our ads and signs said we opened at 9:00 AM, but some "early birds" drove by and saw us outside and asked if they could stop in. Sure, I said, not wanting to pass up any potential customers. Well, two ladies almost got in a fight over the jewelery we were selling! One lady wanted to buy all of it, but another lady wanted to look through it all piece by piece first. Garage sales can be treacherous territory!
On a lighter note, here's a picture of Lizzie exploring the sale.

The accordion was my dad's. We sold it to a nice young lady who also serenaded us with it.
All in all, I'd do a garage sale again because it's fun to get rid of stuff. I did learn a few lessons (no early birds!). Next time (many years from now), I'll be more prepared!
