Baby's First

Some photos of Elizabeth's big firsts. Her first...

Trip to the library (I also signed her up for a library card)...

Big swim (this swimsuit wasn't my best baby purchase. Why would I buy a two-piece bathing suit for a three month old? It just keeps riding up her the whole time)...

Time in a high chair (she's propped up with rolled cloth diapers to keep her from flopping to the side)...

Visit to the zoo (she is not taller than a newborn giraffe)...

Moment in the winner's circle (these are prizes she (translation: Shawn and I) won in a night at Dave and Busters)...

Sign that everything is A.O.K...

Pair of sunglasses (very cool)...

Great work of literature completed. We read Pride and Prejudice aloud every night before bed and finally finished in May. Now she's onto Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...

So young and yet so accomplished!*

-- Lisa

* "Oh! certainly," cried Miss Bingley, "no one can be really esteemed accomplished, who does not greatly surpass what is usually met with. A woman must have a thorough knowledge of music, singing, drawing, dancing, and the modern languages, to deserve the word; and besides all this, she must possess a certain something in her air and manner of walking, the tone of her voice, her address and expressions, or the word will be but half deserved."

"All this she must possess," added Darcy, "and to all this she must yet add something more substantial, in the improvement of her mind by extensive reading."

"I am no longer surprised at your knowing
only six accomplished women. I rather wonder now at your knowing any," said Elizabeth.
