Our Cats

Shawn and I have two great cats – Emily and Bruce. We adopted them both just before we were married and they are now about 4 ½ years old.

Emily is orange with stripes. We named her in honor of Emily Dickinson (one of my favorite female poets). She is an extremely sweet cat and is very loyal to our family. She is kind of a clean freak and loves going through her daily routine with Shawn and I. She also absolutely loves to eat! Her favorite is Pounce treats (the kind with the container that shakes). She is also very active and enjoys playing with Shawn everyday.

Bruce is black and white. He is named for Bruce Wayne (the alter-ego of Batman). He is a very laid-back and calm cat. He likes to sit on the couch and loves looking out our large windows into the front and back yard. Every night he sleeps with Shawn and I in our bed and will stay with us until we wake up in the morning. Bruce loves to play with Emily but sometimes gets on her nerves because he’s messier than her.

Both our cats are awesome and we absolutely love them. We are also considering getting a dog, but that is something we’ll probably put off until later.

Maybe. This little guy is pretty cute.
