I am a rabid Harry Potter fan and so Shawn and I planned a trip to one of the big release parties in the area. If you haven’t read the books, the rest of this post probably won’t make any sense to you, but here we go.
Shawn went as Remus Lupin (in werewolf form, though as one particularly picky fan pointed out to me, there was not a full moon on the night of the book release)...

My friend, Kristina, was Luna Lovegood…
Kara, our niece, being the youngest in our group, was too mature to dress up. However, she was kind enough to hang out with us nerdy adults all evening though.
There were a lot of people in costume and we were even on local TV along with some others. The book was officially offered for sale at 12:01 AM, but we didn’t end up getting our copies until around 1:30 AM. Our joy has momentarily overtaken our need for sleep…
By the time we got done dropping off Kristina and Kara, it was around 3:00 AM, and I was too tired to read. But I devoted all day Saturday to reading and am happy to say I finished it! Don’t worry, no spoilers here, just a positive review of the finale.

I'm very sad that in the end you both had to give your lives to overthrow silly Voldemort, but, the time we spent together as friends, especially looking for the Dealthy Hallows, was some of the most fun I ever had!
