She was a little more interested in opening gifts than she was last year, but not by much. She would rip one piece of paper off of a box and throw it in the air and laugh and laugh. Then, once we had coaxed her into taking all the wrapping paper off of a box, she would demand we open it so that she could play with her new toy right then and there. Once the box was opened, she was no longer interested in the other presents under the tree and we had to convince her to go back to opening presents!
Here are some photos of her morning (with commentary by Lizzie):
Opening presents is hard work!
Daddy help me!
Lookit! Ponies!
Ah, that was fun!
What, no more presents?
After opening gifts at home, we packed ourselves in the car to go to my mom and dad's to gorge ourselves on food and even more presents. Liz followed the same routine at Grandma and Grandpa's. After we ate, Lizzie went down for a nap and Shawn and I snuck out to go see a movie. We saw Sherlock Holmes, which turned out to be fairly okay. And, right after we got back, Lizzie woke up and was ready to play with her toys again.
She got so many great gifts for Christmas. A tool box, a shopping cart with groceries, My Little Ponies, dress-up shoes, tiny plastic dinosaurs, and more. She loved all of it, but then again, her tastes are very simple.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
